AI Automation for Small UK Businesses

Bespoke AI platforms for UK businesses — intelligent CRMs, workflow automation, lead qualification systems and chat platforms that actually understand your business.

The problem

Why AI-driven businesses need a smarter website.

  1. 01

Off-the-shelf chatbots don’t understand your business

They answer the FAQ and hand off everything interesting to a human anyway.

  2. 02

You need AI that integrates with what you already run

Generic SaaS AI tools don’t talk to your CRM, your accounts, or your scheduling system.

  3. 03

    Bespoke means "scoped honestly"

Every AI claim has to earn its place. If a workflow doesn’t need AI, we won’t add it.

What we build

What we build for ai solutions.

Bespoke AI CRMs

Tuned on your own data, integrated with your existing stack, owned by you.

Workflow automation

Triggered workflows that move data between your tools and surface the work that needs a human.

Intelligent chat platforms

Site-trained assistants that triage, qualify and route enquiries — not generic FAQ bots.

Lead qualification systems

Conversational intake that scores, ranks and writes leads straight into your CRM or inbox.

Real-world proof

We’ve built an AI-powered admissions CRM for Accelerated Global Pathway and a two-sided B2B ordering portal for Ash Workwear. Same studio, same approach.

Why us

The catch-all for sectors not on this list

If your business isn’t in one of the eleven sectors above, this is your starting point. We scope, build and maintain bespoke AI tooling on top of websites, portals and existing systems — for any UK business, regulated or otherwise.

Pricing

What this typically costs.

Custom AI Platforms are priced on scope. Most engagements start with a 10-minute call and a written scope; we never quote bespoke AI off a brochure.

What AI actually is — and what it isn’t

The last two years have produced more AI marketing than working AI. Before we scope anything, we agree what AI is genuinely good at in your context — and where a rules-based workflow or a human will do a better job.

What it IS good at:

  • Triaging inbound enquiries against a well-defined taxonomy (practice area, urgency, sector)
  • Turning unstructured documents into structured data (invoices, CVs, application forms)
  • Drafting first-pass responses in a defined tone of voice for a human to approve
  • Ranking or scoring records against a policy (lead quality, admissions fit, credit exposure)
  • Extracting entities and answering questions across a corpus of your own documents

What AI isn’t good at

  • Making regulated decisions autonomously — the human accountable for the outcome must remain in the loop
  • Replacing a workflow that’s already deterministic and cheap
  • Providing "creative" output at scale without editorial review — the results tend to be same-y and off-brand
  • Being reliable without a documented eval framework — LLM output quality drifts with model updates and prompt changes

What we actually build

Bespoke AI is not a chatbot bolted onto a website. It’s an end-to-end system: data pipeline, LLM inference, evals, human review UI, and integration with the tools you already run. Concrete examples we’ve shipped:

  • AGP — an AI-powered admissions CRM triaging applications by fit, urgency and funding route, with human approval before every enrolment decision
  • Ash Workwear — a B2B ordering portal with AI-assisted product search over a 2,000-SKU workwear catalogue
  • Client-facing AI enquiry qualification for regulated sectors, with an explicit "hand to human" step for anything ambiguous

Regulated sectors — a word on AI governance

Our founder’s background is in regulated financial services — specifically compliance and financial crime. That translates directly to how we scope AI in other regulated sectors: for solicitors, accountants and healthcare providers, we design AI systems that keep the human accountable, log every model decision, and produce an audit trail a regulator can actually read. If you’re in one of those sectors, the sector page is a better starting point than this one.

What makes AI worth buying

The reliable test is time saved per week, priced against the fully loaded cost of the person doing the work today. If a bespoke AI tool saves your admissions coordinator ten hours a week, and the coordinator’s time costs £30 per hour fully loaded, the tool is worth £15,000 a year in labour alone — before you count the enquiries that stop leaking through the cracks. Anything that fails that test is optional, and we’ll tell you so.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is AI relevant to a small business?
Yes, for narrow, defined workflows. Enquiry qualification, document triage, review-response drafting, first-line customer support — all of these deliver measurable time savings for businesses with more than a handful of staff. AI for its own sake is not.
What’s the difference between a chatbot and a custom AI tool?
A chatbot answers FAQs against a static knowledge base. A custom AI tool is trained or configured against your own data, integrates with your existing systems, and makes decisions or takes actions on your behalf under a human review workflow. The second is significantly more valuable — and more expensive.
How do you handle compliance and data protection for AI systems?
UK GDPR, ICO guidance on automated decision-making, and (where relevant) sector-specific regulator guidance. All model inputs and outputs are logged; every decision has a documented human-review step where required; and data used for training or fine-tuning is scoped explicitly in the engagement contract.
What can you integrate AI with?
Most modern CRMs (HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive), accounting stacks (Xero, QuickBooks), messaging (Slack, Teams, email), and any system with an authenticated API. For older systems, we build a lightweight sync layer.
How long does a custom AI build take?
From 4 weeks for a scoped enquiry-qualification agent to 12+ weeks for a full end-to-end admissions or intake platform. Everything starts with a written scope and a fixed-fee first phase — no bespoke AI quoted off a brochure.
